I need your help ~

Fortune Cookie image photo picture
Steve and I went out for dinner tonight, and we went to a Chinese restaurant and had a lovely meal, and after dinner, the waiter brought the fortune cookies...

This is what mine said: Even in the greatest confusion there is an open channel into the soul. ?!

What the heck does that mean?? They got the confusion part right...I'm very confused and don't understand what it's supposed to mean?

Can someone help me out??

  2. Hi Kat,
    I think it means:
when you're terribly confused about something you should listen to your intuition (the voice of the soul). Does that make any sense to you?

Atleast that is how I would interpret it!

  6. Kat, here's what I found...

VIEW CONFUSION AS A CLUE THAT YOU ARE TEMPORARILY ON THE WRONG LIFE PATH. "In the greatest confusion there is still an open channel to the soul. It may be difficult to find because by midlife it is overgrown..." Saul Bellow. Your job is to go within and redirect yourself back onto your unique path.

Duni is right. When you are confused, your soul is telling you something and it is through the "inner voice" (or intuition) that you can hear it. The confusion itself is a warning signal that you are not on the right path.

Now tell me my friend, are you confused??? LMAO!

    Much Love,

    Bing (",)

  8. I didn't know what it meant either but the explanations above make sense. Now you'll have to let us know if your fortune comes true!

  10. It basically means that they took a Chinese proverb and tried to translate it into English. However, they fell into the trap of using a dictionary and copying from the dictionary verbatim without checking to see if the words made sense when put together.

  12. It's a Zen thing which in it's self can be very confusing.I believe what it is trying to tell you is.That no matter what the conditions around you,you still have the calmness of your inner self to guide you.Hope that helps.

  18. Hi Kat,
I interpret it much as Bing did. I think it means to stay aware of your inner voice and act accordingly to what your heart is saying and not your head.

Intuition is a very powerful source if we listen and move the way our inner being, soul, heart, conscience, whatever you name it....is saying for us to go.

I am a Christian but also find great comfort and wisdom in Zen and many Eastern philosophies.

You are getting a lot of answers. have we all confused you again?

I hope you are having a great week.

    Jackie:-)))
