Update to Taillight

Posted by KAT Saturday, July 18, 2009 0 comments

Okay, so now that I was told that I couldn't order a replacement red plastic cover for my taillight, I had an idea???

How about if I tried to glue the pieces back together?? Luckily I kept them, and so I did!!

And you know what?? It looks like total crap, but at least my bulb isn't sticking out all obvious to the police....begging them to pull me over to give me a ticket!!!

I think I might just get by, until I figure out something better to do??

Still don't know what to do with the bumper, either??

Oh, and something must have happened in the crash, because now my muffler sounds like a tank!! I am guessing that it either disconnected from the pipe, or it got damaged somehow when I hit her car?? Anyway, so at least now I won't get pulled over for the tail light, it will be for the noisy muffler......sheeeesh!

Whatever......

Okay first with the trip to Ohio, then with all the work piled up as I mentioned on my other blog that nobody helped with any of the work while I was on vacation, and still being tired and all.....
Well, last night as I was getting ready to go to my friend's house to eat dinner and tell her all about my vacation and work, I get in my truck to back out of my driveway, and.....
BAM!
I hit my daughter's friend's car!! Actually it was her Mother-in-laws car, great!
I just can't believe it, I have no luck whatsoever! Can you believe the crap that happens to me? I think if it wasn't me, it would be pretty funny, but somehow my life is just like this, and I really am getting tired of it. It isn't funny anymore. I have had enough crap in my life that I think I should be done by now, and not have to put up with any more, right?

Anyway, it looks like I was going 40 miles an hour with the whole back door being smashed in on her car, and paint all scraped into the black door. I have a red truck, but most of the smears were white, mixed with red.

My truck sustained damage too, my fender is dented on the right back corner and when I hit her, I must have broken something, because my fender is hanging and looking like it wants to fall off. Also, my red taillight is broken. And I know with my luck, I will get pulled over by the police, right??
So, I just went to the auto parts store, and the guy told me that they'd have to order it, it isn't something they keep in stock, but when he looked, they can't even order it??? So he told me to check the junkyards??? What the heck does that mean?? I have no clue, and it's not like I am a car whiz or anything, so I am just friggin lost as to what to do now???

I'm telling you, this life just gets more depressing as it goes on..........

Whenever I need to find something or somewhere that I am not sure where it is, I usually go online to the local yellowpages and do a search for what I am looking for. This usually helps me find a restaurant or place of business, and will give me driving direction as well as an estimate of how long it will take me to get there.

What I have found that has been an enormous help to me is, Local.com, that helps me in my search for anything that I might be looking for. It is a compilation of Superpages.com, local yellowpages.com, Citysearch.com and Yelp.com all combined into one search that is by far easier for me to find something. Because it has the information of these 4 search engines, this is the only place I go now to find what I need. It is the best at finding all the information you need and also has reviews on certain sites that might come in helpful to you.

My friends and I were supposed to meet at a restaurant in another town, and I did not know the town well at all, or even how to get to the restaurant, so I did a local search for this specific restaurant, and guess what? I got the driving directions and even got to look at the menu online before I went! So, I knew exactly what I was going to order once we got there!

What I love about local.com is that it not only gives you information on what you are looking for, but it also lists other nearby things that might relate to what you are looking for, and it offers discount coupons for things and places in the city or town that you search, (you might want to check this out before you go), and also in addition to the reviews, it has a section dedicated to "local favorites" that have been compiled based on users comments. Your search doesn't have to stop at restaurants though, you can search for anything you want, including (but not limited to) pets and supplies, car dealers, florists, movie theaters, lawyers, and so much more!! And once you put into the search your town/city and keyword, it will pull up the information you need to help you.

Why not give local.com a try and see what I mean? This may end up being the only search you use from now on!!

Is this Copying, or What?

Twilight Cover Totally Looks Like C.S. Lewis's book Words to Live By

Doesn't this look like it was copied?? I don't know who had it first, but it definitely is almost the same picture.

Someone Ran Down my Mailbox!

Posted by KAT Wednesday, July 15, 2009 2 comments

mailbox on post image photo picture
Oh my gosh! I came home from work today, and someone had run into my mailbox, and knocked the whole thing down! Post and all!

Now it looks like I will have to get another one, and I am going to see if the neighbor will go in with me and we can get a couple of really nice Residential Mailboxes and put them together so hopefully, it won't be so easy to knock one down.

I like this one on the left, but do you think it is a little fancy? I really like how it stands out, and it says that the post is solid and durable. (And I guess I am going to need that!)

I'm not sure if I got one of those mail boxes that you put on the house, if the mailman would actually get out of his truck and come up to my house to deliver the mail? Right now, he just sits in his truck and sticks his hand out the window.

Maybe I should do some more looking on this site and see if I can find a really strong mailbox and post? If people are going to run down your mailbox and then just drive away like nothing happened, I will need something a little more solid that what I had. I like that there are so many more options now, than there were before. You used to just get a regular mailbox and nail it to a fencepost. These look so much more sturdy and they look nice too!!

cornfield image photo pictureThis is what I saw a lot of on my trip to Ohio! There seemed to be cornfields everywhere, right on the side of the roads as we traveled around.

We didn't go too many places, but wherever we did go, there on the side of the road were cornfields and lots and lots of cows too!! There were horses and sheep too, but not as many as the cows and the corn.

I have to tell you that it is an altogether different vibe out there, so laid back and countryish....

Now, I don't live in a big city or anything, but we don't have cows and corn here! So this was a little unusual for me!!

I guess I am more used to a little more hustle and bustle than what was out there. Everything just seemed a little bit slower, and more easy paced. I kind of liked it, it was easy to relax.

NFL Sunday Ticket, Not Just for Guys!

Posted by KAT Tuesday, July 14, 2009 6 comments

NFL Sunday Ticket image photo picture
Okay, so if you are a football fan like me, you know this is the best deal in town, right?
NFL Sunday ticket on Direct TV is the only way to watch the games! There are more than 14 NFL games on Sunday for you to watch and enjoy and I have to say that I love to watch the Patriots play!!

It is something about those big burly men in those tight spandex pants, knocking each other around, that just gets me.

You can get the nfl sunday ticket schedule so you can be sure to catch all the games that you want to see, and even some that you didn't know you wanted to see!! We always have a great crowd over on Sundays to watch the games on the big screen tv and there is always yelling and laughing going on!! It is a fun time.

If you don't yet own Direct TV, I would advise you to check out the nfl sunday ticket price, because this alone makes the whole thing worthwhile!!

Unless of course you are not a die hard football fan like we are, then there are other things you would be interested in, like movies or concerts. But seriously, the whole reason to get it, is to get the Football!! There is something to be said about having a great bunch of friends over and everyone having a blast, and watching something that we all love!!

Till next time,

Okay, so if you read my other post about the start of my horrific bus ride home, this is the continuation of that....

So, I left off with the Eminem wannabe, sitting next to me, and the bus driver now off the bus....
So I see out my window that the bus driver has called over a very large and intimidating black woman that is security (trust me, I wouldn't want to tangle with her!) and they are talking and then the driver comes on and says to the guy next to me, "Would you come out here for a minute?" And Mr Huffy says all mad and everything.... "What now?" and puts up a stink about being singled out, and I am just about shrinking in my seat, because he is getting very, and I mean very aggitated!!! Then he gets off the bus, and I see him standing all gangsta like and has a mad stance, arms crossed all high across his chest and his head tilted back, you know the stance, right?? And then the Black woman starts laying into him about how if he doesn't change his attitude he will NOT be riding this bus or any bus....and if he even thinks of giving the driver a hard time, he will be put off the bus, no matter where we are, whether we are on the turnpike or not, and the state police can come and pick him up...and blah blah blah..... and I had to snicker, because you see his form start to shrink, and his arms come down and he puts his hands in his pockets and hangs his head.....and she is still going off on him, calling him a punk and all sorts of stuff. Anyway, he agrees, and so she tells him to get back on the bus.....and she "don't want to hear about any trouble outta him"

So, he comes back on the bus and as he climbs the stairs, his posture picks back up, and he is cussing as he comes down the aisle, and slams, litterally slams himself into the seat next to me, making mine shake and he bangs into me, and never says sorry or anything, and all I want to do is not sit there, but there are no other seats on the bus!! And this was my seat since Pittsburgh!! And I will admit, I am kinda scared of him....plus it is after 1:00 am in the morning, which now means he will be next to me for 4 hours to New York....Not fun!

So my trip to New York was filled with low volume cursing and cussing, that is until he fell asleep, and then he was all sprawled all over the place. But was I going to say anything......NOPE~
Somehow I thought it best to just keep my mouth shut, and be quiet and safe. Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep on that bus ride....and I was exhausted.

Then we arrive at the New York Bus Terminal at just after 4:30 am and that is not the place to be....by yourself at 4:30 in the morning. I tried to meld into other people's groups, but everyone is so non-friendly. So I was on my own, for a 3 hour layover in New York. I had to keep my eyes open at all times, keep my hands on my bags and luggage, and try not to look to scared!!!! LOL

I can laugh now, but then, I didn't like it, and would not want to do it again. There are some very seedy characters walking around that bus terminal.

The good news is....I made it home safe and sound, and I am glad to be back.
I will seriously have to rethink the bus route the next time, if there is one.

Till Next Time,
Take care

How does Charter help you?

If you have Charter cable, how has it helped you or what can you do now that you couldn't do before?

Charter wants to know, and if you submit your story to them, you could be eligible for some fantastic prizes, like, a 52 inch HDTV or a 15 inch laptop computer! Just for submitting your story, it isn't any easier than that! Charter has the best contests around and if you follow my blogs, you will know that I have written about them giving away XBox 360 gaming systems and laptops last year, and they also gave away a grand prize of a Honda Civic Hybrid to one lucky winner!! Trust me, these are contests you can't afford to miss!!

If you are a customer of Charter Cable, just go to charter.com/yourlife/, and enter to share your story and be entered into the drawing. It is so easy. Just include a photo or video with your story when you submit.

I love the fact that I can pay one reasonable bill for my cable, internet and telephone, and be able to communicate with friends in far away places that I couldn't before because of the cost of my phone bill. The high speed internet connection really lets me communicate with them any time I want!! And I also love the fact that we can exchange photos right there, either through email or in chatting, it is great to see pictures instantly, rather than to wait, and hope they get developed and sent to you by snail mail. To bring friends and family closer together is the best thing I have found with Charter.

I also follow Charter on Facebook, and would suggest you do too, so you don't miss any good deals, and you can be up to date with the contests they hold or any package deals they are offering.

Good luck on winning the contest, or at least a laptop!!
Take care,
Kat

Hello everyone!

I am back from vacation, and I am really tired!! lol
I think I need a vacation from my vacation, or maybe it was just the 27 hour bus ride that did me in?? Can you believe it was that long?

I have to tell you about a few things about the multiple buses and characters on those buses!!

On the first leg of my trip, I thought I was going to get to sit by myself, but no, I had a weird Chinese lady sit with me, who talked to herself constantly, and kept smiling at herself....it was just creepy. I couldn't understand what she was saying and she didn't seem to care that people could hear her, she just kept on babbling away. And even when she was trying to go to sleep, she had her eyes closed and kept talking and smiling. Just weird.

On the ride from Philadelphia to New York, I had the window seat, and people were milling past me (I was kinda up by the front, about 4 rows back), and then there was all kinds of yelling from the back and arguments, and almost fighting. And this was just after the new passengers were boarding. The driver came on to see what was the matter, and some of the guys were mad because some seats were unavailable, and the driver said there were other seats they could sit in, and this one guy, that was an Eminem wannabe, started talking back, and swearing, and saying he wanted to sit in those F**king seats, was told by the driver to come up and sit with me!! WTF??? NO!!!!!
I didn't want Mr. Violent attitude to sit with me! I am very peaceable. But the driver said if he didn't come up here and sit "right now" he could just get off the bus.
So up storms the Wangsta (white guy trying to act all Gangsta) and throws himself into the seat next to me, bumping me, and making my seat shake! The driver says to him, "what is your problem?" and he says back "I just want to get home without a F**kin problem, alright?" The driver says to him, "look, you better change your attitude real quick, or you can get off the bus right now" and I am hoping....yes, get off the bus, please!!
But no, he just shuts his mouth till the driver's back is turned and then he swears at him, and starts talking all kinds of smack as the driver gets back off the bus to finish up what he was doing.

To be continued.....

porche image photo picture

I have been dreaming of getting a new car, and I have been browsing online for some good deals. What I found is a beautiful Nissan Frontier that I would love to have for my very own! I have always loved a good truck, and it would help me to haul around my craft things. I also was looking at the Porsche review and trying to find out as much as I can about that little cutie! There are so many styles and models to choose from, I don't think I could ever pick just one! I don't think I have ever had anything comparable to a Porche? But, in reading the reviews on it, I think I would love to have one for my very own!!

I also had to look at other cars, and Oh My Gosh, I found an Audi TT convertible that is just what I would love for the summer months!! The reviews on this little baby are good too. It only has a V-6 engine, so that will help save some gas. But it is very roomy for a sports car.

Another car I really liked was the Hyundai Genesis, it is comparable to the Lexus, and we all know we want one of those....right?? This is so much more affordable though. I love reading through the reviews and comparing details on the different cars. This is really helpful when you are trying to decide on a new car. Sometimes, the littlest detail can be a deal breaker and if you do your homework and read up on the make and model that you are looking for, you won't be disappointed when you get to the dealership to buy that new car that you have been dreaming about!!

Good Luck!
Till Next Time,
Kat
