We've Joined Jack's Quest for Halloween!

Cruella DeVille and Boogeyman WWE Halloween costumes image photo pictureHalloween is our most favorite holiday of the year, even beating out Christmas, and that is unusual for most people. But we love Halloween and go all out every year, with the costumes and the decorations!! People actually come from all around to see my daughter's house decorations every year!! She hangs bodies from trees, and has ghosts dangling that look like they are flying, and eerie lights and signs, and even some window decorations too. It really is a whole adventure!

We usually create the costumes, but sometimes we use some store bought stuff too. You can Buy Halloween Costumes Online or in a Halloween Store Near You and have your own adventure this coming Halloween!! Or if you have pictures from a past halloween, why not join Jack's Quest by entering your pictures and being in the running for a chance to win a contest? You can enter either pictures, video or a story and have people vote for them.

I did it....and I need your votes!! This is my daughter dressed as Cruella DeVille from 101 dalmations, and my grandson dressed as the Boogeyman from WWE wrestling. As you can see he has a mask on, and a fake bleeding heart hanging around his neck, but that is all that was bought for the costume, everything else was made. We have a blast every year, and it brings us closer together too! I made the cane out of a branch that I wrapped in duct tape, and the feather like things he is wearing are really ponytail holders made out of fake hair.

Halloween Cruella DeVille and Boogeyman image photo pictureIf you love Halloween as much as we do, would you please consider clicking on the banner below and voting for us?? We need your votes!! And tell your friends to vote for Kat too!!
I would appreciate it very much!!

Halloween Adventure - Jacks Quest

This banner will bring you to my page, with 2 pics on it, if you scroll down, you will see my pic on the left, and then in the middle bottom, you will see the 2 halloween pics, and there is a small hand in the lower left box of each pic that says "vote here". You click on that and then the it counts your vote, and brings the pic up big on the left and says "Does this look like an adventure to you?" and I clicked again, and it registered another vote!! YAY!! Then it says you can come back in 24 hours to vote again.....
I hope that explains it, and now maybe your votes will be counted. It doesn't say you have to register, but let me know if that isn't true, so I can alter this post again. Please?

Thank you so much again,
Take care,
And happy haunting.....

Just look at that face???
I love Panda bears, and wanted to share this with you!!

Have a great day,

Time to Clean the Registry

Posted by KAT Sunday, September 27, 2009 6 comments

It seems like the problems never end with me and this computer!
I think I have eliminated the virus, but I'm still not sure?
After reading so many helpful comments and ideas, I think now I have to clean out my windows registry. My computer is still running really slow, and I am sure I have broken files and incomplete files. Someone told me that using a registry cleaner would solve a lot of my problems?

I have looked at the registry myself, and it is all Greek to me? I am going to try to use the free registry cleaner and scan my computer and see if that helps? I am sure that there are a lot of errors that the scan will find, and I think it will be better to leave the fixing and correcting to someone who knows what to do and how to fix it.

My computer still freezes from time to time, and this is one of the hints that maybe there are errors that need to be corrected? I have read the testimonials from other users, and it looks promising. This registry fix seems to have helped many others with their computer problems, and to speed up their computers. It should help with the upload time when I first turn on my computer and the shut down time too.

I am ready to try anything at this point. Other than getting a new computer, I think this might be my best option.

Wish me luck!

My Dad and a Pair of Stockings!

Posted by KAT Thursday, September 24, 2009 64 comments

Have you or someone you know been prescribed medical or support stockings?
I remember when my Dad was told he had to wear support stockings, and him being a big, strong, Italian Man, said there was absolutely no way "He" was wearing stockings!! He was very adamant about it too! It took a lot of convincing to talk him into wearing them for his own good.

His doctor told him that he needed to wear them to help the blood flow through his veins easier after surgery, and the tightness of the stockings would help the blood flow back to his heart without pooling in the legs. Now, my dad was still very against this, and he even made me go in to pick them up, so the people wouldn't see him picking them up. I have to laugh at this memory, because he was so embarrassed at a man having to wear support hose.

As you know, I work in the medical field, and I told him repeatedly, that there are thousands of people who are wearing them right now, and that he would never know, because it isn't like a sling where you wear it on the outside, the stockings are underneath your pants, and they are made to look like a pair of socks, only his would be a bit longer, going up above the knee, but who would see them?

Men and women wear them for many reasons, including, but not limited to: minor swelling (or edema) in the legs, feet or ankles , superficial thrombophlebitis, spider veins, leg cramps or fatigue, and tired aching legs.

These medical stockings are also prescribed for many pregnant women because it helps with the fluid build up and blood flow while pregnant. The compression of the stockings is believed to increase the pressure in the tissues beneath the skin and reduces and helps prevent swelling.

If you or a loved one is told that they have to wear surgical stockings, just remember this story, and let them know that it is good for them, in more ways than they will ever know!

The Lord Works in Mysterious Ways...

Posted by KAT Wednesday, September 23, 2009 1 comments

This is a great little story that I found, that I wanted to share with you....I was amazed when I read it.....

On a Saturday night, a pastor was working late, and decided to call his wife before he left for home.. It was about 10:00 PM, but when he called, his wife didn't answer the phone.

The pastor let the phone ring many times. He thought it was odd that she didn't answer, but decided to wrap up a few things and try again in a few minutes.. When he tried again she answered right away. He asked her why she hadn't answered before, and she said that it hadn't rung at their house. They brushed it off as a fluke and went on their merry ways.

The following Monday, the pastor received a call at the church office, which was the phone that he'd used that Saturday night. The man that he spoke with wanted to know why he'd called him on Saturday night.

The pastor couldn't figure out what the man was talking about. Then the man said, 'It rang and rang, but I didn't answer.' The pastor remembered the mishap and apologized for disturbing him, explaining that he'd intended to call his wife and must have dialed the number wrong.

The man said, 'That's, OK. Let me tell you my story.

You see, I was planning to commit suicide on Saturday night, but before I did, I prayed, 'God if you're there, and you don't want me to do this, give me a sign now..' At that point my phone started to ring. I looked at the caller ID, and it said, 'Almighty God'. I was afraid to answer!'

The reason that it showed on the man's caller ID that the call came from 'Almighty God' is because the church that the pastor attends is called Almighty God Tabernacle!!

Ok, are you amazed like me??

Looking for Something Local

Posted by KAT Tuesday, September 22, 2009 0 comments

Whenever I need to find something, whether it be a store or a restaurant or lately a computer repair place, the first place I go to is Local.com. This is where I find all the information that I need relating to local restaurants when we are looking for someplace new to go out to eat.

I like to try different places, so I do a local search for restaurants in Sandwich Massachusetts and go through the list of different places that are available to dine in. I also like the fact that there are customer reviews for me to look at and this can help me to make my mind up about a certain restaurant too. I have left my own reviews on some places, in hopes that others will find this tool as useful as I do.

Local.com is a search engine that is a compilation of the best of the other ones, including, Yellowpages.com, Superpages.com, Citysearch.com and Yelp.com. Why would I go to any of those when I can have a combination of all them right here? This is better than my local yellowpages. I can get the hours of business and driving directions right here. My phone book doesn't offer that. I never go to the phone book anymore, it seems so archaic. It doesn't let you do any research on anything you are looking up, you have to make a phone call, sometimes only to find out that the place you were wanting isn't what you really wanted.

They have quite a few computer repair places in Sandwich, and I have used one of them before, but the good thing is I have more options by going here and searching. There are other choices for me to pick from, and maybe I will have to give one of them a try?

So if you want to search for computer repair or local restaurants in your own area, try local.com and see if it doesn't provide you with all the information you need, and then some?

Take care,
Kat

I did find the above trojan virus thing though: this is after I installed Avast, and while just doing what I normally do.....

Then this warning popped up, and I aborted like I should, and then within the course of an hour, 2 more popped up??

What the heck is going on???

Still working on it....be patient with me!!

Some examples of ugly things to lose might be:
That 80's disco outfit you are holding onto (enter in Trashy Fashion Trends)
That 8 track player you are keeping, why? (enter in Mutant Machines)
That knarly tree in your back yard (enter in Ugly Wonders of Nature)
and that moped that you are thinking of restoring in your garage, as if? (enter in Ugly Mobiles)

There are some suggestions to get you on your way to ridding yourself of the ugly in your life. Because who couldn't use a little sprucing up?? And a new phone??

I'm heading over to enter the contest now, I have plenty of ugly things that I would like to get rid of to make room for more bliss in my life! It would be heavenly if I could win?

Fish for a Birthday?

Posted by KAT Friday, September 18, 2009 1 comments

saltwater fish image
My grandson Marcus is asking for fish tank for his birthday, which is coming up next weekend. I would love to get him a saltwater fish tank, because the fish that can be in saltwater tanks are so beautiful! Now, he may not want beautiful fish, but there are other fish too. They are unusual, and not what you are used to seeing in fresh water fish tanks. There are clown fish, like Nemo was, and eels, and I think he would like those.

I think we will get him one of those Reef aquariums that are very popular and look fantastic. It will be like a dream come true if he gets one of those. I can imagine him and the expression on his face when he sees all the exotic fish and the live coral floating in the tank. I think that the live coral will be a big hit, the colors are so vibrant and cool. There are very specific procedures when getting new coral and inserting it into the tank. You have to make sure your bring the temperature of the shipping water up to the temperature of your tank water, before putting the coral into your tank, and another important thing is to make sure the lights are off and stay off for at least 3 hours, then slowly introduce the light for short periods of time. The thing to remember is that this coral is alive, and can die from shock if these steps are not followed.

We will also have to get some decorations for the bottom of the tank. There are all sorts of pirate things to get, or skeletons, he likes stuff like that, so that is the way the tank will go.

I have a feeling that in the beginning, he will take care of the fish and the tank, but soon enough, his Mom will be the one doing it all. But then isn't that the way it is?? I remember when my daughter was younger, every single pet, including the fish, after much begging and promises of "I really will take care of it!", eventually became my pets and I looked after them. So, payback time....She will have to take care of the saltwater fish and tank and she will know how sweet it is!

Take care,
Kat

Okay....
What is up with this....????

He looks ridiculous, and like he has a bunch of balloons under his skin.
Why would anyone do this to themselves?
And why would anyone think this looks good??
And how does he get dressed? And what does he wear??
Can his arms even move in? LOL

In fact, I am sure he has a smaller waist than me, and that just isn't right!

Gold, the NEW Girl's Best Friend...

Posted by KAT Tuesday, September 15, 2009 3 comments

What is better than diamonds as an investment? Gold of course!! This is the new hottest thing around, and if you haven't been looking to purchase gold as an investment for your future, you could be missing out! Diamonds are not the thing to make you happy, ask for gold!

There is something to be said about investing right now in gold, and you can purchase gold bullion as a way to make your future a little easier. This is a very hot commodity right now, and everyone is investing in it because they know that the price of gold will never drop as drastically as some of the other investments they may have purchased in the past. Stocks, bonds and CD's are not as secure an investment as if you purchase bullion. The price really doesn't fluctuate that much with gold, as it has been around for centuries, and now is the time to buy!

We have all seen the ads on TV offering huge amounts of cash for your gold, right? Well, what they aren't telling you is that if you hold onto it, it is increasing in value, even as I write this! They will make a huge profit off your gold, and you will think you got a good deal, until you see that if you had only had the foresight to purchase gold coins, your investment would go up and up, and you would be making the profit!!

They are evidently talking about gold and the early beginnings of gold, and the gold rush, and the investing part of it in school, because my grandson came over and told me he is going to use his allowance to purchase gold coin. When I asked him why, he said that the teacher said it would be good for his future, so that is what he wants to do. He asked me to look on the internet to see if we could find some good places that he might be able to get his coins, and I really learned more about gold than I ever knew!! He even said that there was a gold panda coin to commemorate China, and you all know how I LOVE pandas!! So we went and looked at those, and lots of other coins. The fact that my grandson who isn't even 9 yet is thinking about securing his future, really made me take a look at what I had saved. And do you know what? I may just have to buy some gold coins or bullion myself to carry me in my senior years!!

The things you can learn from an 8 year old!! Geesh!

Kat

Oh Well,

Bad Credit? No problem...

Posted by KAT Saturday, September 12, 2009 4 comments

If you are like me, you have thought seriously about credit repair in these tough economic times. We have all used our credit cards way too much, and with the economy in the toilet, we need to start thinking of a new way of doing things.

Gone are they days when you could just "throw it on my card" and only pay the minimum each month. The credit card companies have found ways to make that impossible by raising interest rates and lowering your credit limit. The willy nilly days of spending have probably given some of us bad credit, and now we are paying the price for it.

Everyone needs to check their credit report and if there inaccuracies on there, then you need to work hard to fix your credit. This is important in establishing a good line of credit that you may have to use in the near future. There are many mistakes on people's credit report that they may be unaware of, and to fix these is crucial for your credit health.

There is a really good company out there that was founded by attorneys, so they know their stuff. Ovation Credit has helped many people remove the errors on their credit reports and even dispute some of the entries. There are no initial costs, and once you join, you can cancel anytime, there is no long term contract with Ovation. If you need help in getting out of your rut, and repairing your credit, please check out Ovation Credit and see what they can offer you.

Well, that was some twist on Big Brother the other night!! Whew! I think I was just as surprised as Kevin, Jordan and Natalie!

So, all 3 of them will go to the Finale, with Jordan competing with Kevin in the final part of the HOH competition, after beating Natalie (What? Really? I know! ) in the second phase of the competition.

Schemers that they are, Kevin and Natalie lasted longer than Jordan in part one, the log rolling one, and then there were 2, and they kept talking about the second phase being a mental challenge, and that Natalie is so much better at those than Kevin, and that she could easily beat Jordan, so Natalie drops off, leaving Kevin as the winner of the first part of the competition.

Then as it turns out, Jordan beats Natalie by a mile in the second competition, and I thought that when Julie was talking to them, she was gonna cry!! LOL Her voice was all shaky as she talked about not being in control of her fate. And what she doesn't know is that Kevin says he won't take her to the final 2, but that is not the deal they made...Kevin Lies!! They all do, except for Jordan, I think she is the only one who hasn't lied.

So if Jordan beats Kevin in the final phase on Finale night, she wins HOH and decides who she wants sitting with her right then and there. The jury house seems to have turned on Natalie, and they all think Kevin will win it, but I don't think they are expecting Jordan to be there?? And if Jordan wins....I think it's a long shot no matter who she picks???

What do you think??

Argentina is Beautiful this time of Year!

Parque Iguazu waterfall image

Remember the wedding shower that I told you I went to? Well the bride to be, Alana just told us at work today that her Parents in law to be gave them the best gift ever!! They were given tickets for their honeymoon, and the destination is Argentina!! Woo Hoo! Who doesn't want to go to Argentina at this time of the year?? It is absolutely stunning down there in the fall!

They are pre-booked with some awesome Argentina Tours, that will take them to the capital city of Buenos Aires which is beautiful and cultural too. The city has everything they will need there from shopping to nightlife. There are the local crafts that Alana can't wait to see too. There are many fine Argentina Hotels that they can stay in, and the girls at work were giving her some suggestions for some really great Hotels in Buenos Aires, seeing as though at least 3 of them have been to Argentina.

Buenos Aires imageShe is really excited and was doing some research on the internet about Argentina Travel to see where else they could go while they are down there. There is the beautiful Parque Iguazu with it's luxurious waterfalls, that just about take your breath away. There are so many different sites to visit there too, that they could have a different waterfall picture for each place they visit. Just look at that picture above, isn't it one of the most beautiful waterfalls you have seen??

She is also looking at the Hotels in El Calafate because her future inlaws told them that they must go to El Calafate when they go! They said it is a must see for everyone. So they are definitely planning on going there. They have the most amazing glaciers there in the Los Glaciares National Park, it almost looks like you took a trip to Antartica instead of South America! They have all the seasons in Argentina so you can experience it all in one place.

I think that would be tempting for anyone? Don't you? I have never been to Argentina, but after having looked on the internet with Alana, it looks beautiful, and will now be on my list of place to go.

I received this in an email, and thought it was funny, so I wanted to share it with all of you.....
Feel free to copy it and show it to your friends!!

When girls don't put out!!

This was written by a guy...it is GREAT!

I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart.

FOR EXAMPLE:

One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventua lly says, 'I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me.'

I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!'

So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear...

'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.'

She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?'

Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep.

The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.'

We went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... She was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis.

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, 'That's fine, honey.' She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally sai d, 'I think this is all Dear, let's go to the cashier.'

I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.'

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?'

I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.'

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?'

Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either... but at least she knows I'm smarter than her.

Till Next Time,

Did you hear the news that Ellen DeGeneres is going to replace Paula Abdul on American Idol? Yup! This is big news today!!

Now, musically she can't really offer the singers much advice, but she will have her comedy schtick down pat, and that should help ease some of the contestants nerves. I wonder how Simon Cowell will get along with her??

I know she was a hoot when she guest judged on So You Think You Can Dance, but she also offered some very good criticism too, from a layman's standpoint, which is good, because not all of us are judges that critique every little thing.

So maybe it will be a good thing that she is on American Idol now, she can offer the average person's point of view??

What do you think?

Till Next Time,

Okay, so I was sad last week when Jeff went home, and I was kind of mad, because for some reason my DVR didn't record it?? I was on here as usual, and I had it set up....but for some reason it didn't record, so I didn't know who went home until the next day when I looked it up online.
Then I was sad.

But I caught the update on the following show and they showed a few clips, so I kind of know what happened?? But Kevin is dumb. He sides with Natalie and I really am sick of her.

Michelle went home this week, and that leaves Jordan all by herself against Kevin and Natalie. And poor Jordan has been floating along in the game, mostly thanks to Jeff, and this week because she isn't seen as a threat. Ya think?? Duh!! Jordan is no kind of threat at all, remember when she couldn't tell time?? Jeff was a little astounded that she didn't know what 1/4 past 8 was, for example....she just doesn't get it?? Even my grandson knows how to tell time whatever way it is said, but not Jordan, you have to basically tell her what time it is!! Yah, I don't think she is a threat either. She hasn't won a darn thing, except for Head of Household and that was only because Jeff gave it to her.

So, out of the final 3 that are still there, I don't think any one of them is worthy of the money. And I think the jury house will have a tough time coming up with reasons to give it to any of them. I can only imagine the speeches we will hear on the finale night.

I would have liked to see Jeff or Michelle win the money, so now I don't really care who gets it. I think right now Natalie has the most votes in the jury house, but we will see??

What do you think? Who do you want to see win?? Tell me.....

Till Next Time,
Take care,
Kat

Help me...I need an Upgrade!

Posted by KAT Wednesday, September 9, 2009 2 comments

This is Kat's desktop computer talking, and please don't tell her that I am posting this...
I need to vent and Kat thinks that this is the place to do it, so this is where I will vent too!

I am in desperate need of an upgrade, because I am old and tired and way outdated! But do you think she knows it?? NO... she just keeps adding more and more stuff into my hard drive and I try in vain to keep up with all that she needs, but sometimes, I just feel that I am not good enough. I have been in the shop more times that I would care to admit, to tune me up, to eliminated a virus and to install more memory to help me out. But it all seems like it is in vain, because I just can't fulfill her needs any longer without some help.

I have tried to give her subtle hints to show her that I need an upgrade, or that she needs someone better than me, like for example, I shut down her browser in the middle of her working, to send her the hint that maybe there are too many tabs open, or that maybe she is doing just a little too much for me to handle right now. But all she does is reboot me and start over again after huffing and puffing and I will let you in on a secret too, Kat says many bad words when she sits in front of me!! She can swear like the dickens!

Now, I have been here with Kat for over 5 years and in computer years (sort of like dog years) that is well over the time that I was made for! In fact, when she first took me home from the store, I was already outdated. Can you believe it?? Me, outdated? But yes, the sad truth is that my kind are only good for a few years and there is always someone more powerful, with more RAM and faster speeds and more bells and whistles than I care to admit.

What she needs to do is to get a brand spanking new HP computer that will fulfill all her needs. She can still keep me as a back up to play her games, or to hold her files, but for her work that she does, she really needs someone with much more to offer her than I can. I am willing to step aside and make room for a newer HP model, because they are the best! I am a little envious of everything that they have that I don't, but the technology just wasn't around when I was created. So I can't fault the new guys for being so much better.

She also could use one of those flat screen monitors, instead of this old huge box thing that I have. I am not streamlined at all. I take up so much room here on her desk. My tower is enormous and the cables everywhere....geeesh! I wish I could be more like the modern guys, but again, I'm old and barely functioning. Yes, she needs to get on over to the HP store and have a look around.

They are also running a special right now that Kat should take advantage of and it is a $30.00 stackable site-wide coupon that is good for $30.00 off on all orders of $150.00 or more at the HP Home Store. Just use the coupon code SV2132 at the time of checkout.

** This coupon is valid through 10/31 or while supplies last. Restrictions and exclusions apply. Please see the HP site for more details.

Whew!! Okay, I think I am done now.
Psssst, if you see Kat, let her know that she needs to upgrade!!
But don't tell her that I told you, deal?

Thanks,
Kat's Computer

Here is a list of the stupid, stupid legal court settlements that actually took place, and are nominated based on the absurdity of the outcomes!!! I am stupified!!

The Stella Awards

It's time once again to review the winners of the Annual "Stella Awards." The Stella Awards are named after 81 year-old Stella Liebeck of New Mexico who spilled hot coffee on herself and successfully sued McDonald's. That case inspired the Stella awards for the most frivolous, ridiculous, successful lawsuits in the United States. Here are this year's winners:

5th Place: Terrence Dickson of Bristol, Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just finished robbing by way of the garage. He was not able to get the garage door to go up since the automatic door opener was malfunctioning. He couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the house and garage locked when he pulled it shut. The family was on vacation, and Mr. Dickson found himself locked in the garage for eight days. He subsisted on a case of Pepsi he found, and a large bag of dry dog food. He sued the homeowner's insurance claiming the situation caused him undue mental anguish. The jury agreed to the tune of $500,000.

4th Place: Jerry Williams of Little Rock, Arkansas, was awarded $14,500 and medical expenses after being bitten on the buttocks by his next door neighbor's beagle. The beagle was on a chain in its owner's fenced yard. The award was less than sought because the jury felt the dog might have been just a little provoked at the time by Mr. Williams, who had climbed over the fence into the yard and was shooting it repeatedly with a pellet gun.

3rd Place: A Philadelphia restaurant was ordered to pay Amber Carson of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, $113,500 after she slipped on a soft drink and broke her coccyx (tailbone). The beverage was on the floor because Ms. Carson had thrown it at her boyfriend 30 seconds earlier during an argument.

2nd Place: Kara Walton of Claymont, Delaware, successfully sued the owner of a night club in a neighboring city when she fell from the bathroom window to the floor and knocked out her two front teeth. This occurred while Ms.Walton was trying to sneak through the window in the ladies room to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge. She was awarded $12,000 and dental expenses.

1st Place: This year's runaway winner was Mrs. Merv Grazinski of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Mrs. Grazinski purchased a brand new 32-foot Winnebago motor home. On her first trip home, (from an OU football game), having driven onto the freeway, she set the cruise control at 70 mph and calmly left the drivers seat to go into the back & make herself a sandwich. Not surprisingly, the RV left the freeway, crashed and overturned. Mrs.Grazinski sued Winnebago for not advising her in the owner's manual that she couldn't actually do this. The jury awarded her $1,750,000 plus a new motor home. The company actually changed their manuals on the basis of this suit, just in case there were any other complete morons around.

Now, I don't know how these cases ever won in court, but this is where our hard earned money is going....
To ridiculous lawsuits and the enormous erroneous settlements that result......
All I can say is, I am dumbfounded and disgusted all at the same time!

We all need to show off our creations in the best light, and with the proper displays you will have sales coming left and right! Now, there are some cheap looking displays, and then there are the eye-catching ones that make people look and linger. Those are the ones we are going to focus on.

Have you ever been to a trade show exhibit or a really large craft fair and seen the displays that some of the people have? I have often been to them and really wanted to own my own, because whenever something is displayed in the best possible way, you are drawn to that item, and really think about purchasing it. If things are just thrown on a table, you tend to walk right past, right?

Some dealers have the most amazing trade show exhibits, and you see their booths or spaces are always full of people, and the more people that are there, the more it tends to draw even more people over, because they all want to see what everyone is looking at in this wonderful booth!!

If you have never been to a trade show, it is where dealers show off their wares in one big exhibition hall, and every dealer has their own space to set up the way they want. When you see a nice Trade Show Display Booth, it will draw you into that booth and you will want to look around. The nicest ones that I have seen have come from Gilbert Displays because they can make any space look exceptional! They have architectural woodworking elements that make any booth look amazing!! And it can only make your creations look even better! And who doesn't want to display their crafts in the best light?

They have some fantastic jewelry display cases that I would love to own for my own shows, I can only imagine how many sales I would make if I had nice cases to display my artistic creations? They have a line of modular display systems too that would look good in any booth, and also display your items in the best possible way.

For my next big show, I am going to look into getting set up with a nice booth set up from Gilbert displays.

Till Next Time,
Take care,
Kat

The Tale of the Ceiling Fan

Posted by KAT Monday, September 7, 2009 2 comments

Once upon a time, there I was, someone who desperately needed Ceiling Fans, and with all the hustle and bustle going on in my life, I didn't get a chance to buy them or have them installed before summer was over!

So, here we are now at the start of the fall season, and I'm thinking that I had better purchase them now, and have them installed so that they can help with the heat this winter. I know that a low running Ceiling Fan can distribute cool air or the heat in the house, therefore saving more energy. In the winter, the heater doesn't have to be set as high if you have your fan running on the lowest speed, and on the reverse setting, to take the heat from the ceiling (because heat rises) and distribute the heat back down and into the rooms.

So, I went to the internet to the only place capable of fulfilling my needs, Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans, to see which ones I could purchase that would help me this winter, next summer and for all the coming seasons in my life. And Oh My Gosh! I also found a lovely electric fireplace for my newly renovated living room. I am so excited! They have so many lovely things here at Hansen Wholesale that I couldn't stop browsing....

But, back to the fans, I absolutely loved the Casablanca fan shown above in white, with a light in it. This will go in the center of the room, and I think that the white color will not be so distracting, and make the room appear larger. A big plus is that it has a light in it, and will provide lighting for the room in addition to circulating the air.

Now, I just have to decide on a ceiling fan for my bedroom and the kitchen too! This will take some time and planning, because I need them to be just right. I have to take into account the color, the blade size, lighting or no lighting, and the hang of the fan. If I get one that hangs too low, some unlucky visitor may get beheaded!!

ADT Home Security Sign for the Yard image
Since the near break-in that I had, Home Security is a very important thing to me, and very high on my priority list! When you have some of the "best" things, then people want to take them from you! We have a big Flat screen TV, the best DVD player and stereo, and some really nice collectibles too! So,I did some searching around before I settled on ADT. They are the leading company in Home Security. They are well known and people recognize the sign I have on my front lawn, prior to seeing the stickers in the windows.

That gives me a little feeling of security right there. You always think that your neighborhood is safe, and that things like this only happen to other people. But you are so wrong! My neighborhood used to be a quiet neighborhood with mostly summer residents only coming in the summer and us year round residents were scarce. Now it has taken a turn with the economy. People are buying these summer cottages and making them their year round residence. And they are bringing with them families that are unknown to our little neighborhood. Now, I am not saying that this is the reason for the recent break-ins...but I don't much believe in coincidence.... do you? We never had problems before, and we knew our neighbors. These folks stroll in and are rude and unfriendly and don't give a hoot about anyone but them.

Anyway, safety has always been big on my mind, ever since I had my daughter, funny how when you have a child you become so much more protective? Kind of like a Mamma Bear with her cubs...You don't mess with the Mamma!!! So when I was looking for a home security company, I did some adt pricingfirst. Then I looked at some of the other companies, and they didn't compare. They didn't even come close? ADT offers so much more that I feel safer just knowing that they are there for me and my family. If they are good enough for the White House, the Pentagon and Fort Knox, well then, I guess they are good enough for me!!

Root For Jeff in Big Brother!!

JEFF BIG BROTHER IMAGE PHOTO PICTURE

This is Jeff.
He is my favorite player on Big Brother.
He may get eliminated this week, but I hope not??

I Like Jeff, and I like the game he has played.
I hope Natalie and Kevin don't get rid of him after giving their word to him last week, when he offered to save them and backdoor Russell.
Getting rid of Russell was a great move on his part, but if they get rid of him instead of Michelle this week, I will be mad.

Jeff or Jordan didn't win the POV which was the only way that Jeff would be safe, Michelle won it, so now it is Jeff and Jordan up for elimination. Michelle said she'd rally for Jeff with Kevin, and see if he would put Natalie up, but it didn't happen. Jordan said she wants everyone to vote for Jeff, to keep him in the game, because she thinks he has a great chance of winning. Her.... not so much! And she admits that she wouldn't have made it this far in the game if Jeff didn't help her.
So we will see what happens on Thursday?

I know it is only a game, but....
I kinda liked looking at him 3 times a week??
Ya Know??
