Jennifer Lopez Says her Daughter is a Diva

Posted by KAT Friday, July 31, 2009 4 comments

Jennifer Lopez Diva image photo picture

Jennifer Lopez has announced that her daughter Emme is becoming quite the little diva! She says that Emme has inherited her Diva attitude!! LOL

The twins Emme and Max turned one year old in February, and Jennifer said that she and her husband Marc Anthony are starting to notice familiar personality traits in the twins.

Jennifer was on Rachael Ray's talk show, that aired today, and she said, "We call her Emme-tude because we're like, 'She's giving us Emme-tude right now.' She gets that from her dad. I'm kidding' she gets it from me." Then she laughed with that big laugh she has.

Jennifer Lopez twins image photo pictureBut she said about little Max that he is most like her, adding, "Me and Marc are always claiming he's got my head and he's got my mouth."

I wonder what that means?? Does it mean that he has the shape of her mouth, or is he already spouting off profanities?? LOL

Well, I guess we will see what else the twins have in store for us in the coming months? Will they sing? Will they dance?? Will they just have attitude??? LOL

Take care,
Kat

I just received this in my email, and I had to post it...How true it is!!!

The Original Computer!!!!

This made me laugh out loud...

Memory was something you lost with age
An application was for employment
A program was a TV show
A cursor used profanity

A keyboard was a piano
A web was a spider's home
A virus was the flu
A CD was a bank account

A hard drive was a long trip on the road
A mouse pad was where a mouse lived

And if you had a 3 inch floppy.

You just hoped nobody ever found out!?!

Camping in North Carolina!

Posted by KAT Thursday, July 30, 2009 0 comments

I was born in North Carolina and have wanted to go back for a long long time.

Now may be my chance!! My daughter asked me if I wanted to pitch in and rent a RV with her and go on a trip somewhere!! Well, yea!

So, I am going to suggest we go to an rv park in North Carolina called Sycamore Lodge!
Sycamore Lodge sitemap image
We could stay here, and either camp in the RV, or use one of the cabins they have on site, but either way, we can use the amenities that Sycamore Lodge offers such as the pool, and lodge for doing puzzles or just meeting other people, or even the fantastic playground they have. Marcus would love the slide and the swings.

This is one of the very best rv parks nc has to offer. I have checked them out and what they can offer by far exceeds most of the other campgrounds in the area. Now I am really not a camper, so I don't even know if I want to stay in the RV, but that is why I love Sycamore Lodge, they offer cabins! And I might just have to get into one of those after having days in the camper with my daughter and grandson!!

We may travel around and check out other nc rv parks, after we stay at Sycamore, just to see what they are like and to extend our trip, but I really think that once we are there, it would be easier to just stay put. I am really looking forward to going back to North Carolina and I think this would be a fun and inexpensive way to go. We could do all our own cooking in the RV and we could also swap off driving down there. I am excited and think this is going to be a great adventure for all 3 of us!!

American Idol Wannabe, Dead

Posted by KAT Wednesday, July 29, 2009 0 comments

Alwxis Cohen
American Idol wannabe, Alexis Cohen is dead after a hit and run accident in New Jersey.

You may remember her from last season and the season before season 7, when she tried out, she didn't make it, then she went on a rampage hurling swear words left and right and even flipping Simon Cowell off with both hands....more than once too!! LOL

She was hit by a car and suffered massive head, chest and abdominal injuries.

The police did make an arrest yesterday, the guy who had hit her had just drove away and left her to die in the street. At least now he is behind bars.

Ohio Trip and the Luggage Ordeal!

Posted by KAT Tuesday, July 28, 2009 0 comments

Hartmann Stratum luggage imageYou already know about my trip to Ohio, but what I haven't mentioned to you all is that my luggage was a nightmare!! I knew I needed new luggage before I went but being the procrastinator that I am, I left it too late to update my luggage before my trip.

So, on the way home, at one of my transfer stops, when they take the luggage out of the hold of the bus and kind of throw it on the blacktop, evidently my sorry suitcase had burst at the seams, and was lying on it's side with my belongings sticking out for the world to see?!? When I got off the bus, and saw the suitcase, I had to laugh because it looked so funny with articles of clothing hanging out....until I realized that this was MY suitcase, then the laughing stopped and I was mortified!

Luckily, I had packed a bungee cord in the suitcase, and stuffed my things back into my broken and battered suitcase and wrapped the bungee cord around it to prevent it from happening again! Then I rolled it to the next bus that I needed to be on, and continued on my journey. But how embarressing!!

So, to prevent that from happening ever again, I am now shopping for new Luggage and I have found some exquisite pieces that I may just have to buy before my next trip.

Hartman suitcase imageHartman duffle bag image
I absolutely love these pieces from the Hartmann luggage collection and they are red, my favorite color!! Now these little beauties would have been a lot easier for me to distinguish which bags were mine with all the transfers I had and rushing to catch the next bus! The thing I like about the big suitcase is that it is roomy enough to carry most of my things and it has a combination lock, that I am sure would withstand other cases being piled on top of it without the damage my cheap suitcase endured!! And the duffle bag is a good size for a carry on too!

I also was looking at the Tumi luggage and the Briggs and Riley luggage collections, and they have some really nice pieces in them too. But I am really partial to the Hartmann red pieces, and think those are the ones I need to purchase before my next trip.

The good news is that most of the luggage is on sale now, making it the best time to buy!

Till Next Time,
Kat

My Aunt, who lives in England, has been having a very difficult time with her finances since my Uncle passed away last year, and I have tried to help her out, but there is little that I can do.

What I did find that I think will be a big help to her is a company called Abacus Debt Management that is located in the UK, and should be able to help her consolidate her monthly payments into something more affordable for her. They work with people who are behind in their payments, or who just can't keep up with the monthly payments and work with the creditors to reduce the monthly payments too.

I am passing this information along to her so that she can call them and set up an appointment with them as soon as she can, so that she won't lose her house! When there were two incomes, it was easy to make all the payments that they both had, but now, with my Uncle gone, she just can't seem to make the payments on everything? Or maybe it is just that she needs debt counseling? Maybe she needs to consolidate her payments or something? I am not an expert and that is why she needs to call Abacus.

They also offer something called an IVA, which is an An Individual Voluntary Arrangement and lets you repay what you can within 60 months, and the balance is written off after that. If she qualifies, it will let her keep her home and she won't have to file for bankruptcy, which would be great! I really hope she qualifies for this.

So, I am off to send an Email to my Aunt with the good news that I have found.
Till Next Time,

Home Security Update...

Posted by KAT Sunday, July 26, 2009 1 comments

Does anyone out there have the ADT home security system?

I am thinking of switching my company to ADT, and have heard that they are the best for a Home Security System and the research I have been doing is also leading me down that path.

I heard that they were named "Best Buy" by Consumer Digest, and that they have really affordable plans, one even as low as $1.00 a day? That seems like the best deal that I have ever heard of. It is much cheaper than the plan I am paying for now!! I have also seen a lot of homes with the ADT stickers in the windows or an actual sign in the yard. That right there would be a huge deterrent to anyone who was even thinking of breaking into my home.

I also like the fact that they have an ADT keychain remote, that will let you arm and disarm the home
Security System from any room in your house. That would be very convenient for me, if I forget to arm it and get into bed, all I have to do is get my keychain and do it from there. I also liked the fact that they have trained home security professionals that would monitor my home 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
And that when and if an alarm in my home is activated, ADT will call the authorities in my area immediately, so they can send the proper emergency services to my house.

Yes, I am going to have to switch my security company to ADT.
Any Thoughts?

Marcus and I went to the beach quite unexpectedly, we were on our way home, and I thought that it would be nice to go down and just stick our toes in the water.

Now, mind you, he is the fairest child I know, and we didn't have sunscreen, but I figured we would just go for a bit. (Don't worry, he didn't get sunburned!) So we get out of the truck, and walk in the sand, down to the water, and I tell him he can go in with his flip flops on, and he looks at me horrified! LOL I really did have to laugh at that one!! They are only rubber and plastic, so why not?

Anyway, I tell him not to get wet...yeah right....then when I see that the bottom of his shorts are getting wet I told him to take them off. Again the horrified look!!! LOL He refused, and then I got a lecture about him being 8 and that he is "NOT" taking off his shorts and just be in his underwear!! I mean, there were only like 3 other people on the beach, and they weren't close, and 2 older people out in the water. But I guess that wasn't going to happen...so needless to say, he got his shorts and shirt wet, but had a great time looking for shells.

He found some really pretty ones too, and wanted to take them home. So we did.
We had a blast, but didn't stay too long....as I said, we had no sunscreen, and it was unplanned....just something to do!!

Till Next Time,
Kat

Have you ever been in the position of a complete mental block, and you are sitting in front of your computer thinking, "I have to update my blog, but I don't know what to write about"?

We have all been there, I myself have yet to come across that, but being in this big blogosphere, and visiting thousands of sites, I have heard the complaint often enough.

Why not try using some of the free articles that are out there for you to use? There is a great site called Article Alley, that will let you use it's articles on your own blog or website. They have thousands, literally thousands of contributors and articles up for grab! Some of them are written in technical terms, like the articles about web SEO or marketing, that the average Joe would be lost. But others are written by people like you and me and can range from everything like... How to plant your garden, to online dating do's and don'ts.

All content on the site is free content and you can use it for your own. The good thing about that is that if you really are stuck someday, and you have absolutely no clue what you are going to write about, you should give them a try! Like I said, there are loads of categories, and even more articles within each. I was over there just looking today, and I can't believe the quality of some of the articles. These writers are well informed and this site is wonderful for gathering up all of those articles in one place that is easy to find, easy to navigate and even easier to use.

Next time you are sitting in front of your computer, having a writer's block and thinking about giving up because nothing is coming to mind....remember Article Alley. They will help you out of your bind.

Take care,
Kat

Ok, so I stole something again!! And I am really not a stealer!! LOL
I never steal anything!! But this blogging thing is just making me into a thief!!
I see all kinds of things I want....
So, I was over at Nessa's Place and I saw this awesome meme she does called Thursday Thunks (things you think about on Thursday) and although I know it isn't Thursday, I wanted to participate. Better late than never, right??
Well her answers just cracked me up, and you should head over there right now to see what I mean!!

So, without further explanations or appologies...here are my answers...... LOL

1. You walk into a store and the cashier is being held up by a robber. The robber's accomplice is dead on the floor at your feet with a shotgun laying next to him. The robber does not see you, but the cashier does - what do you do?

I will admit, I'd be scared, but I would definitely pick it up and summon my inner Rambo and shoot him! (in the legs of course, so he couldn't run, and so I wouldn't go to jail for murder, just for helping someone else out)

2. We go to an ice cream shop for an ice cream cone. You say you are buying and I am going to stay in the car. You ask me what I want and I say "surprise me", what kind of ice cream cone am I going to get?

This one is kind of tough, because I wouldn't want to make the decision for someone else, because what if they don't like it?? Then I would have ice cream and they wouldn't?? But, in keeping with the meme, if this had to be..... I would probably get you a vanilla cone with cherry dip, because most people don't order them for themselves once they are older... they seem to be a memory from childhood. But what a nice way to bring back a memory, huh?

3. You have a dream that your co-worker, friend or whoever is hit by a garbage truck after they back into a ladder with a black cat on it. The next day you see that person standing by a ladder with a black cat on it and there is a garbage truck driving down the road.... what do you do?

This one makes me laugh, because I would be all over that yelling to get them out of there and being hysterical and all....and that would probably be the cause of this person backing into the ladder and getting hit by the garbage truck, they would probably be trying to get away from psycho me in the first place!! LOL So, I would have contributed to their accident unitentionally. But knowing me, I couldn't keep my mouth shut, and the scenario above would play out....

4. What is the most money you've won on a lottery or scratch off ticket?

$40. Which is why I don't play much, I am not lucky.

5. A neighbor kid down the street comes to your door and offers to wash all of your windows outside for $10 - do you have him do it?

Um, no.....why do I need my windows washed, so the neighbor kid can look in and see what I have to steal next time I leave my house?? :)

6. Go to Google Images. Type in the name of the last movie you saw. Post the first picture that comes up.

Sandra Bullock The Proposal image
I loved this movie and took my friend to see it for her birthday!! Definitely worth watching.

7. Your local animal shelter calls you and says there are 3 dogs that need an immediate foster home for 3 days. If you do not accept, the dogs are put down that day. Do you take them in?

I don't really have the space for 3 dogs, but I would take them in regardless. All my pets have been strays, and I couldn't say no.

8. What is the messiest room in your home?

Can I just say my whole house here?? I think I mentioned that I am a packrat, and that I hold onto everything!! So there isn't a tidy place anywhere without something there that doesn't belong. But hey, I work well in chaos!

9. Have you ever been to a wedding that participated in a strange tradition that you had never heard of?

No, and I am not sure what you mean, unless you mean like the scenes in 27 dresses??? LOL no, definitely not.

10. Name one sport that you just don't get.

I don't really get boxing? Why would you purposely get into the ring, knowing you are going to get beat on, and maybe get knocked unconscious?? What is the thrill in that?? I don't get why anyone would want to get beat up on purpose?

11. What was the last email that came into your inbox about?

A funny video sent to me by Janet about random acts of kindness, that was a little perverse, the kindness wasn't what you were expecting!

12. Have you ever purchased anything from a sex shop? Extra points if you tell us what it was....

I will say yes, and then agree with Nessa, why would I admit what it was for extra points that don't mean anything?? You have to do better at that to have me reveal.....

13. Go back to that Google Images link... type in the last food item that you ate. Post the 2nd picture it comes up with.

pizza image
Ok, this is the 2nd picture, but YUK!! I don't like pepperoni!!! Mine was extra cheese and mushrooms.....yum!! And I ate 7 pieces..... can you believe it?

14. Got any bumper stickers on your vehicle? What are they?

Yes, I have the Boston Red Sox Logo, and the New England Patriots Logo, and of course, my favoirte vampire Edward Cullen and Twilight.

15. What meme question do you wish was never asked again?

I haven't found one yet that I don't want to answer, so it's all good!!!

Ok, so there are my answers to the stolen meme.....and I will try to be good, and not steal anymore.....no promises though......

And if you would like t0 steal this and put your own answers in, just leave me a comment so I can come over and check out your answers.....that would be great!!!

Till Next Time,
Kat

I got a Lower Rate on my Credit Cards!

Posted by KAT Saturday, July 25, 2009 0 comments

I have been trying really hard to be good with my credit cards, and not overspend, and to make sure I make my payments on time. Ever since my ex-husband ruined my credit, I have been working to get my rating back up there. So when I did a little research and found that I could lower my interest rates, I was ecstatic!!

I was able to obtain a low interest credit card that will really help me get ahead now! I was able to search by the Credit card company, and by the type of credit I have, whether it is excellent, good, fair or bad, and by the options offered by the particular companies. I liked the idea of being able to compare the best credit cards and what they offer, side by side, it really was so much easier than having to go back and forth from one web page to another!!

It is also helpful to know what kind of card you are looking for, because so many companies offer so many different things from gas cards, to debit cards, to airline credit card and prepaid debit cards. Without the comparison option, I think I would have gone crazy trying to find the best one for me!

But I did it!! I was able to obtain a lower interest rate and now every month I can pay more towards my balance, instead of almost the entire payment going to the interest! This was so quick and easy that I would recommend it to anyone who is either looking for a credit card, or looking to lower their interest rate. I was also able to transfer my existing balance to my new card right away! What a convenience that was!! No more worries!! Yay!

Yard Sale!

Posted by KAT 0 comments

My daughter had a Yard Sale today, and sold quite a lot of stuff that she no longer used or needed. Poor Marcus, she sold quite a bit of his stuff too!! LOL She said she did pretty good, but she sold some things at a lot less than what she wanted, only because she didn't want to pack it all up again!

But she is slowly trying to clear the way by making room, and the only way to do that is to get rid of some stuff. She has the right idea. I myself, am a packrat and I hold onto everything and anything!! I can't seem to get rid of anything! That is probably why my house is so cluttered and full. I think I inherited it from my Mom and Dad though, they were hoarders too, and I guess I picked it up from them.

Now, if only I could get on the bandwagon in getting rid of stuff, maybe I would have more space and maybe be able to make a bit of cash too??

Take care,
Kat

I don't know about you, but it is getting hotter here by the day!!
I really don't like air conditioning, and usually use a floor model fan.
But I am seriously thinking about getting some ceiling fans for my house!

Have you seen all the new makes and models that they have now? I am very impressed by the styles and prices of these fans! I found one that I like for my bedroom, It is a black modern one from the Casablanca collection. I like the black blades and housing and the fact that it has a light on it too. This will be perfect for my bedroom.

And for the Kitchen I think I will go with one of the more modern ceiling fans from the Minka Air Collection. I really liked one called "Cobra" and I think it will fit nicely with my appliances, and it has a light fixture on it too! The lighting in my kitchen is not the greatest, so this would help with the heat and the light. It is modern and stylish and has the look of one that is so much more expensive than it really is.

Then there is the living room that I have to think about too, and I really, really like
the fact that there are so many styles, sizes and colors to choose from. I am so excited just thinking about how much cooler it is going to be in here! I came across one in the Ellington ceiling fans collection, and thought that although this is unusual, I kind of like it, and think it would make a bold statement for my living room. It is called "Pineapple" and I am just impressed with the whole structure of it. I just love the way the blades are made to look like leaves, and the base is molded like a pineapple. Very creative! Very me!

I also love the fact that I can get all my accessories here too. Anything having to do with Ceiling fans is right here. I am going to have to hurry though, or summer will be over before I even get these fans installed!!

Wish me luck!!

Kat

Are you a Poker Star?

Posted by KAT Wednesday, July 22, 2009 0 comments

Ok, so while my grandson and I were busy laughing and watching Wipeout, my daughter was online with her new addiction...Playing poker online.

Who knew she would be such a whiz at playing poker online? And she even has her friends all hooked on it too! She was trying to tell me about it, she said I would have a blast, and she wanted me to sign up right there and then, because they are offering a "Poker Stars marketing code" when you first register a new account. What you do is put in the special code when you register and when you make a $50 deposit, they match it with another $50, giving you $100 to start playing!! How cool is that?? Plus it also lets you compete in special events that are not open to the public, only to those that put in the special code.

Another thing to remember is the Pokerstars bonus code, you must enter this when you make your first deposit to make sure you get your bonus. And so that you qualify for all the other goodies that they offer. Once you enter your Pokerstars bonus codes you are all ready to begin playing with the big dogs!! You can play in a number of different games, and you can choose the limit you spend. As long as you know how to play poker, this will be fun for you! But there are some awesome tutorials to help you if you need them.

I found it to be one of the best visual and interactive poker sites on the internet!! I have played on some before, but watching my daughter play a couple of hands had me very interested. I like to play poker, but haven't really found an online site that I liked, until this one.

I guess she was right when she said she thought that I would enjoy it!! Now I just have to head over there and sign up....
Maybe when I finish watching TV with my grandson, that is what I will do!

wipeout logo image photo picture
My Grandson and I watch this show every single week, and we laugh and laugh.

It's just something about watching people fall and get knocked down that is highly amusing to us!!

wipeout big balls fall image picture photoMost of these people are talking up a big game, until they hit the course and then natuarally, they "Wipeout" and it is just funny!!

And the things that the show comes up with are just hilarious!! I mean they have mud pits that these people fall into, and water galore, and the obstacles are usually so tough that nobody can beat them, and that is where the fun comes in, watching everybody take a dive!!

But at the end of the show....one of these people will get $50,000.00 for their humiliation and efforts. So, in the end, I guess it is okay to make a fool of yourself on national TV if there is the chance at 50K, huh?

Anyway, I am off to watch it now....8:00 Wednesday nite.
Oh, and right after that is the show "I survived a Japanese Game Show", which is also hysterical and embarasing too!! The things they have the American contestants do, just to laugh at them, and the silly Americans for doing it!!! Again, stupidity at it's best!! But Fun to watch!!

Online Shopping for my Grandson

Posted by KAT Tuesday, July 21, 2009 1 comments

Whenever my grandson wants something, he usually will come to me to ask for it, because he knows his Grammy is a big softie and I will get him just about anything he wants. The great thing about him, is he doesn't abuse this often, like most children his age would.

He doesn't like to go to stores any more than I do, and he knows I do a lot of my shopping online, so when he came to me asking for some WWE Action Figures, I was more than happy to have him sit with me to see what we could find. He already has a bunch of them that we could get locally, but when we went to ShopWiki, we found so many others that he didn't have! The great thing about Wiki is that they compile information from many other sites, so you don't have to go site hopping back and forth, all the information is in one convenient place. So we found a rare John Cena Action Figure and an Undertaker Action Figure that he didn't have, (and that we had never seen before!) and we chose those 2 to purchase. What a great deal we got too!!

I also wanted to look some more at the retro toys, to see if I could get him something we loved when my daughter was little, a Slip N' Slide! Now, we haven't gotten it yet, but there is lots of summer left for him and his friends to have a blast with that!! I can't wait to set it up and see him go!!!

I have already bought him the Nintendogs: Lab and Friends for the Nintendo DS where he can play this game by adopting a virtual dog out of these breeds: Labrador Retrievers, Miniature Schnauzers, Toy Poodles, Pembroke Welsh Corgis, Miniature Pinschers, and Shiba Inus. He chose the Labrador Retriever, and then he has to raise it and train it and love it. It is so cute to hear him say he has to "feed" his dog after their real dog gets his dinner, and then he runs to the Nintendo DS and takes care of his puppy. The cool thing is that this dog can learn tricks and when he gets good enough he can be entered into the virtual dog shows that they have and earn virtual cash to be used for virtual items. I know it sounds corny, but this dog is really smart and learns quick! And my grandson is also learning how to better take care of his own dog at the same time. It's a win, win situation.

I was just over at Mike's blog Rambling Stuff, and this is what I found.....

Isn't this one of the cutest pictures you have ever seen??
I loved it so much, I had to steal it!!! LOL
You all know how I love Panda Bears.

Well, Mike does a thing called Awwww Monday
And this was his selection for today.
I couldn't have picked a better pic myself, great job Mike!

Now, I usually do Music Mondays, but after seeing Mike's Awwww....Monday, I might have to switch!! :)

Thank you Mike, I loved your blog before, but now, you have me totally hooked!!!

Being the die hard Red Sox Fan that I am, I am always on the lookout for Fenway Park Tickets so that I can see my Favorite players play in our home stadium! I love to sit in the stands and get the feel of the ball park, and the Green Monstah (a little Boston slang there) is always a highlight of the trip! I have lots of pictures of the park, because I love it so much!

Now, we all know of the rivalry between the Red Sox and the New York Yankees, right? But I am blinded by the rivalry at all. I just love to watch good baseball, and I think that when these two teams meet up, it is a great ballgame, no matter who you are rooting for! Now that they have built the new stadium in New York, I would love to go down there for a game and score some Yankee Stadium Tickets!! What a treat that would be, to see not only the new ballpark, but to watch a game inside. And wouldn't it be awesome if it could be a match up between the Sox and the Yankees?? I couldn't ask for a better game or a better reason to see the new stadium!

A few years ago, I traveled to Chicago for business, and actually had 3 days off in Chicago and thought, "Hmmm, what could I do in Chicago?" So, I looked into getting Wrigley Field Tickets, and to my surprise, I was able to get them and watch a White Sox game on my time off from work!! Now, I know most of you ladies would have wanted to go shopping or something, but not me....put me anywhere within range of a ballpark, and I will try to be there!! There is just something about a ballpark hotdog that makes it taste better than any you will have anywhere else, and the excitement of being at a live game instead of watching it on television, is just unbeatable!

I will admit it, I do a lot of my clothes shopping online because I really really hate to go shopping. I really don't like the whole shopping thing, with picking through the racks and then going into the fitting room. It just Juicy Couture Red Hoodiereally bugs me.

So for me, my alternative is shopping online and I absolutely love it! I love to find really good deals, and somehow the styles online are better than what we have in the stores around here.

I found this awesome Juicy Couture Hoodie while browsing the casual clothing, and I love red, so this is a hit for me!!! Not that I want to look like Little Red Riding Hood or anything, but I just have a passion for anything red, and I happen to like Hoodies too!!

7 for all mankind jeans image photo pictureI can even get these 7 For All Mankind Jeans that look absolutely awesome!! I found these while browsing the site, and never thought I could afford them after hearing that the stars like Halle Berry, Jessica Alba and Kristen Stewart were wearing them, but these are affordable, and I am going to get me some!! Did you know you can afford 7 For All Mankind Jeans?? I am very happy now, because I have read that these jeans compliment any figure, so I am going to see how they compliment mine!!

See, this is why I love to shop online, you can find all sorts of deals in the latest styles and colors. I also am going to get free overnight shipping on my clothing order, which really is a great deal!! I didn't have to drive anywhere and waste gas, and I don't have to pay any huge shipping deals, and I get wonderful clothes!!

Is there a better way to cap off the weekend?? I think not.
Do you shop for your clothing online too?? Let me know?

Update to Taillight

Posted by KAT Saturday, July 18, 2009 0 comments

Okay, so now that I was told that I couldn't order a replacement red plastic cover for my taillight, I had an idea???

How about if I tried to glue the pieces back together?? Luckily I kept them, and so I did!!

And you know what?? It looks like total crap, but at least my bulb isn't sticking out all obvious to the police....begging them to pull me over to give me a ticket!!!

I think I might just get by, until I figure out something better to do??

Still don't know what to do with the bumper, either??

Oh, and something must have happened in the crash, because now my muffler sounds like a tank!! I am guessing that it either disconnected from the pipe, or it got damaged somehow when I hit her car?? Anyway, so at least now I won't get pulled over for the tail light, it will be for the noisy muffler......sheeeesh!

Whatever......
Till Next Time,
Kat

Okay first with the trip to Ohio, then with all the work piled up as I mentioned on my other blog that nobody helped with any of the work while I was on vacation, and still being tired and all.....
Well, last night as I was getting ready to go to my friend's house to eat dinner and tell her all about my vacation and work, I get in my truck to back out of my driveway, and.....
BAM!
I hit my daughter's friend's car!! Actually it was her Mother-in-laws car, great!
I just can't believe it, I have no luck whatsoever! Can you believe the crap that happens to me? I think if it wasn't me, it would be pretty funny, but somehow my life is just like this, and I really am getting tired of it. It isn't funny anymore. I have had enough crap in my life that I think I should be done by now, and not have to put up with any more, right?

Anyway, it looks like I was going 40 miles an hour with the whole back door being smashed in on her car, and paint all scraped into the black door. I have a red truck, but most of the smears were white, mixed with red.

My truck sustained damage too, my fender is dented on the right back corner and when I hit her, I must have broken something, because my fender is hanging and looking like it wants to fall off. Also, my red taillight is broken. And I know with my luck, I will get pulled over by the police, right??
So, I just went to the auto parts store, and the guy told me that they'd have to order it, it isn't something they keep in stock, but when he looked, they can't even order it??? So he told me to check the junkyards??? What the heck does that mean?? I have no clue, and it's not like I am a car whiz or anything, so I am just friggin lost as to what to do now???

I'm telling you, this life just gets more depressing as it goes on..........

Kat

Whenever I need to find something or somewhere that I am not sure where it is, I usually go online to the local yellowpages and do a search for what I am looking for. This usually helps me find a restaurant or place of business, and will give me driving direction as well as an estimate of how long it will take me to get there.

What I have found that has been an enormous help to me is, Local.com, that helps me in my search for anything that I might be looking for. It is a compilation of Superpages.com, local yellowpages.com, Citysearch.com and Yelp.com all combined into one search that is by far easier for me to find something. Because it has the information of these 4 search engines, this is the only place I go now to find what I need. It is the best at finding all the information you need and also has reviews on certain sites that might come in helpful to you.

My friends and I were supposed to meet at a restaurant in another town, and I did not know the town well at all, or even how to get to the restaurant, so I did a local search for this specific restaurant, and guess what? I got the driving directions and even got to look at the menu online before I went! So, I knew exactly what I was going to order once we got there!

What I love about local.com is that it not only gives you information on what you are looking for, but it also lists other nearby things that might relate to what you are looking for, and it offers discount coupons for things and places in the city or town that you search, (you might want to check this out before you go), and also in addition to the reviews, it has a section dedicated to "local favorites" that have been compiled based on users comments. Your search doesn't have to stop at restaurants though, you can search for anything you want, including (but not limited to) pets and supplies, car dealers, florists, movie theaters, lawyers, and so much more!! And once you put into the search your town/city and keyword, it will pull up the information you need to help you.

Why not give local.com a try and see what I mean? This may end up being the only search you use from now on!!

Is this Copying, or What?

Doesn't this look like it was copied?? I don't know who had it first, but it definitely is almost the same picture.

Someone Ran Down my Mailbox!

Posted by KAT Wednesday, July 15, 2009 2 comments

mailbox on post image photo picture
Oh my gosh! I came home from work today, and someone had run into my mailbox, and knocked the whole thing down! Post and all!

Now it looks like I will have to get another one, and I am going to see if the neighbor will go in with me and we can get a couple of really nice Residential Mailboxes and put them together so hopefully, it won't be so easy to knock one down.

I like this one on the left, but do you think it is a little fancy? I really like how it stands out, and it says that the post is solid and durable. (And I guess I am going to need that!)

I'm not sure if I got one of those mail boxes that you put on the house, if the mailman would actually get out of his truck and come up to my house to deliver the mail? Right now, he just sits in his truck and sticks his hand out the window.

Maybe I should do some more looking on this site and see if I can find a really strong mailbox and post? If people are going to run down your mailbox and then just drive away like nothing happened, I will need something a little more solid that what I had. I like that there are so many more options now, than there were before. You used to just get a regular mailbox and nail it to a fencepost. These look so much more sturdy and they look nice too!!

cornfield image photo pictureThis is what I saw a lot of on my trip to Ohio! There seemed to be cornfields everywhere, right on the side of the roads as we traveled around.

We didn't go too many places, but wherever we did go, there on the side of the road were cornfields and lots and lots of cows too!! There were horses and sheep too, but not as many as the cows and the corn.
cows in a field image photo picture
I have to tell you that it is an altogether different vibe out there, so laid back and countryish....

Now, I don't live in a big city or anything, but we don't have cows and corn here! So this was a little unusual for me!!

I guess I am more used to a little more hustle and bustle than what was out there. Everything just seemed a little bit slower, and more easy paced. I kind of liked it, it was easy to relax.

NFL Sunday Ticket, Not Just for Guys!

Posted by KAT Tuesday, July 14, 2009 6 comments

NFL Sunday Ticket image photo picture
Okay, so if you are a football fan like me, you know this is the best deal in town, right?
NFL Sunday ticket on Direct TV is the only way to watch the games! There are more than 14 NFL games on Sunday for you to watch and enjoy and I have to say that I love to watch the Patriots play!!

It is something about those big burly men in those tight spandex pants, knocking each other around, that just gets me.

You can get the nfl sunday ticket schedule so you can be sure to catch all the games that you want to see, and even some that you didn't know you wanted to see!! We always have a great crowd over on Sundays to watch the games on the big screen tv and there is always yelling and laughing going on!! It is a fun time.

If you don't yet own Direct TV, I would advise you to check out the nfl sunday ticket price, because this alone makes the whole thing worthwhile!!

Unless of course you are not a die hard football fan like we are, then there are other things you would be interested in, like movies or concerts. But seriously, the whole reason to get it, is to get the Football!! There is something to be said about having a great bunch of friends over and everyone having a blast, and watching something that we all love!!

Till next time,
Kat

Okay, so if you read my other post about the start of my horrific bus ride home, this is the continuation of that....

So, I left off with the Eminem wannabe, sitting next to me, and the bus driver now off the bus....
So I see out my window that the bus driver has called over a very large and intimidating black woman that is security (trust me, I wouldn't want to tangle with her!) and they are talking and then the driver comes on and says to the guy next to me, "Would you come out here for a minute?" And Mr Huffy says all mad and everything.... "What now?" and puts up a stink about being singled out, and I am just about shrinking in my seat, because he is getting very, and I mean very aggitated!!! Then he gets off the bus, and I see him standing all gangsta like and has a mad stance, arms crossed all high across his chest and his head tilted back, you know the stance, right?? And then the Black woman starts laying into him about how if he doesn't change his attitude he will NOT be riding this bus or any bus....and if he even thinks of giving the driver a hard time, he will be put off the bus, no matter where we are, whether we are on the turnpike or not, and the state police can come and pick him up...and blah blah blah..... and I had to snicker, because you see his form start to shrink, and his arms come down and he puts his hands in his pockets and hangs his head.....and she is still going off on him, calling him a punk and all sorts of stuff. Anyway, he agrees, and so she tells him to get back on the bus.....and she "don't want to hear about any trouble outta him"

So, he comes back on the bus and as he climbs the stairs, his posture picks back up, and he is cussing as he comes down the aisle, and slams, litterally slams himself into the seat next to me, making mine shake and he bangs into me, and never says sorry or anything, and all I want to do is not sit there, but there are no other seats on the bus!! And this was my seat since Pittsburgh!! And I will admit, I am kinda scared of him....plus it is after 1:00 am in the morning, which now means he will be next to me for 4 hours to New York....Not fun!

So my trip to New York was filled with low volume cursing and cussing, that is until he fell asleep, and then he was all sprawled all over the place. But was I going to say anything......NOPE~
Somehow I thought it best to just keep my mouth shut, and be quiet and safe. Needless to say, I didn't get any sleep on that bus ride....and I was exhausted.

Then we arrive at the New York Bus Terminal at just after 4:30 am and that is not the place to be....by yourself at 4:30 in the morning. I tried to meld into other people's groups, but everyone is so non-friendly. So I was on my own, for a 3 hour layover in New York. I had to keep my eyes open at all times, keep my hands on my bags and luggage, and try not to look to scared!!!! LOL

I can laugh now, but then, I didn't like it, and would not want to do it again. There are some very seedy characters walking around that bus terminal.

The good news is....I made it home safe and sound, and I am glad to be back.
I will seriously have to rethink the bus route the next time, if there is one.

Till Next Time,
Take care
Kat
