I am not a happy girl today, and it is because I am missing my Dad more than usual. It is/was his birthday today, so it just brings up all the pain again.
Holidays and birthdays are the worst I think, because they are a constant reminder of what you have lost. I was a bit more cheerful in my post on my other blog Candles, Crafts and Whatnot, when I wrote a Happy Birthday post, but as the day goes on, it gets harder.
I had my Grandson Marcus over this morning and that helped, but he said to me when he came in, "Why do you look sad Gram?" and I said, "because it would have been my Daddy's birthday today". And he said, "Oh". I asked him if he remembered his Granddad, and he said "yeah, and besides you have his picture right here on top of your computer", smart little guy.....yes I do. And I have to admit that having him here for those few hours took my mind off things, but now that he is gone, I am here, by myself, and feeling alone.
I feel like that a lot, and I don't mean because I live alone, but because in some strange way, I feel abandoned? It probably doesn't make sense to any of you, but it does to me. I lost both my Mother and Father within a year of each other along with my pets, and I had so much death to deal with in that year, that I didn't think I'd survive. But I did. I grew very strong, at least on the outside, and then there are days like today, when I feel like a lump of jello.
I have been to counseling, and it didn't help, not because of the therapist (well, maybe somewhat) but mostly because of me. I haven't dealt with the deaths, and the grieving, and I truthfully don't know how. So most days, I just block it out. I am in denial, I know, but I am also so very afraid of what might happen when I let it go....I am afraid that the floodgates will start, and might not stop, and that is why I hold it in, fear...... that is what keeps me in the constant state of limbo.
Believe me, I don't like the not knowing part, and I want to feel healed, but I just have not gotten to that point yet. I have lots of advice to give to others, and I have....I just don't take my own advice.
So, on this day, I am sending out Birthday Wishes and Tons of Love for my Dad!!
Maybe he will hear me and help me heal?
Well, let me tell you that there will be more thrills than anything you are used to, that's for sure! Riding the Manta is like being strapped to the underbelly of a giant Manta Ray, and lying prone, face down and going on a roller coaster ride of a lifetime!
Watch this awesome video and see what I mean!
To get your very own Front of the Line Pass, you have to visit the site, and register, then complete six simple tasks. If you complete all six of the activities on their site, you will earn a Manta "Front-of-the-line" pass and go straight to the front of the line when you go to SeaWorld in Orlando. If you complete only two of the Manta site activities, you will still win, by earning a complimentary electronic photograph from your Manta ride experience. How cool is that?
So, the six activities you should complete for your pass are:
1. Learn about Manta and answer 5 questions about it (the answers can be found on the site)
2. Take a photo of yourself showing off the saying "I heart Manta" and upload it to Flickr. It can be a sign, or a t-shirt, or the saying on a birthday cake, or whatever, they want you to be creative!! Oh, and if you don't have a Flickr account, sign up is free!
3. When you are telling all your friends about Manta (and I know you will), get 3 friends to use your referral number to fill your row on the ride, and once your row is full, you will get a confirmation email.
4. Upload a short video to YouTube showing how excited you are to ride the Manta. You can take one with a camera phone or a camera, and just upload, then enter the code.
5. Print out the Manta Mask, and take a picture of you wearing it, and upload to Flickr.
6. Follow Shamu on Twitter, @RealShamu the user name on Twitter, and then send a specific "tweet" to Shamu. Also be on the lookout, because Shamu can provide some answers to the Manta quiz in step 1.
That's all there is to it!! It doesn't seem so hard, does it? I feel that if you can do these 6 simple things and it gets you to the front of the line, so you don't have to wait in a long line, it is well worth it!! I wonder if the pass is re-useable? Because I would definitely want to ride this again and again!

Take Care,
Now I posted a song on my other blog a day late (Tuesday) but after I did it, it kind of seemed lame, and I didn't want to do it on here too and have to apologize for being a doofus, so I just didn't post a song here.
But I wanted to let you all know that I own up to my inner dorkiness, and I will try really, really hard to remember next Monday!!
So come back and see if I can remember, ok? LOL
Take care,
Kat
I was a little shocked to hear the news that Eminem had put on a lot of weight since he's been out of the public eye.
He had an interview in England with Jonathan Ross, and discussed quite a few things while he was promoting his new album, "Relapse." He revealed he had a battle with painkillers and with getting sober, and also struggled with a weight problem during his years away.
"Yeah, I put on a few pounds," Eminem said. "I think I probably tipped the scales at a little over 200." Which if you remember, he was kinda scrawny?? So 200 on him would be kind of large.
Eminem said his weight ballooned due to a host of factors including his addiction to pain pills. Now this one is not too much of a stretch?? I knew he had a problem with that before, he didn't try to hide it?
The plan he came up with to try to get fit before returning was to evidently go to extremes.
"I run a lot. I run quite a bit. I get up in the morning," he said. "I was running twice a day for a little while."
"There was one point where I was running like... It was a little too much, it was a little extreme. It was a total of 17 miles," he said. "It's like you kind of go from one addiction to the next and I'm an addict, so I guess [I'm] an extremist, like one extreme to the next."
At least here is an addict who knows he is an addict and admits it, but at least he is getting healthy, and staying off the pills. If he has to run like crazy, then I say, go for it!! At least that won't kill him!!
I'm glad to see him back, and his new video is funnier than ever!! I kind of missed him!
Till Next Time,
Take Care,
Kat
I have voted in the MTV Movie Video Awards for my favorite movie ~ Twilight. It is nominated in 6 different categories including best movie, best fight, and best song.
Robert Pattinson who played the lovely vampire Edward Cullen is nominated in the breakthrough male performance, and Kristen Stewart who played Bella Swan is nominated in the best female performance.
Also, Edward and Bella are up for the "Best Kiss" award and judging by the other nominees, I don't think they won't win this...unless the voting public wants to see Sean Penn get it for his male on male kiss? Who knows how the public will vote??
But you can go and place your votes at the MTV Movie Awards here, and then we can watch to see if Twilight gets any of these awards??
Till Next Time,
Take Care,

Shawn Johnson has won the mirror ball trophy on Dancing with the Stars, for Season 8!
She was the youngest member to compete as Tom Bergeron has said many times, and now she is the youngest winner of the popular show.
I agree she has really stepped up her dancing in the last few weeks, but seriously... Giles Marini deserved this win more than anyone, in my opinion! He has been consistent throughout the comptetition, and has made the judges on more than one occasion say "I couldn't tell who was the professional and who was the star out there" and that speaks volumes to how far he had come, and how hard he trained.
But, America voted, and Shawn was the winner, so I wish her luck! I guess judging by past experiences, if you are in the Olympics...in ANY sport, you will win on Dancing with the Stars!! Case in point...Apollo Ono and Kristi Yamaguchi, and now Shawn Johnson.
Kind of doesn't seem fair to the average celebrity and some of the not so average? It's like they don't have a chance?? If you are not an Olympian next year, don't even try out for the show!! Just my opinion!
Take care,
Kat
This is an oldie, and it is kind of hard for me to post, because it was my wedding song, and I'm not married anymore, and that marriage ended disastrously!! So it kind of makes me sad, but I have always loved this song, and also thought it would be a wonderful tribute to Patrick Swayze. He looks so damn sexy in these video clips! I wish him well!!
I hope you enjoyed the song I picked! Come back next Monday to see what's next~
Take care,
Kat
I saw this on one of my favorite sites: I can has a cheezburger and I just love the way they add the captions onto the pics!!
I loved the game clue, so I got the reference immediately! I really haven't seen many cats that lay like this? It just amazes me.
I had the funny one with the cat in my economy is hard posts, and that cat was funny too!
I guess some cats really like to lay this way??
Take care,
Have fun,
Kat
I just got a brand new Ipod for Mother's Day from my Daughter and Grandson, and I love it. The only thing is trying to remember what songs I like to put on it??
Oh sure, some of them are easy to remember, but sometimes when I'm driving, I hear a song I love and wish I had that on my Ipod and then never hear who sings it, or I forget it by the time I get home!!
I found the most amazing thing ever! I am going to buy this, it is a HD Radio receiver that has ITunes Tagging on it!! How cool is that?? This model is the: Jensen JiMS 525i and it is absolutely amazing with all the things it can do. This receiver combined with High Definition Radio is an awesome combination!
Doesn't this look amazing??
What this lets you do is, you put your Ipod into the receiver, and just listen to the HD radio and when a song comes on that you want to save on your Ipod, you click on the "Tag" button and it will store the song information on your Ipod in a playlist called "tagged" and when you sync your Ipod on your computer, you can go to the Apple Itunes Music Store and purchase those songs that you previously tagged!! How cool is that?? I don't have to remember the songs anymore, this will remember them for me!
And I can listen to all my favorite local radio stations in crystal clear High Definition. It sounds much better than my old FM radio. Just so you know, this is digital radio and not satellite radio, which is fine with me! Like I said, it sounds way better than what I have now which is an old under the counter clock radio! Time to upgrade.
Also, the model that I picked out, comes with an alarm clock, a remote (so I can change stations from across the room), 2 speakers and will also playback mp3's. But the thing that I love the best about it is the song tagging, I think this is a fabulous idea, and I am so happy that someone smart came up with this idea!
There are many other models available, but this is the one that I love, it is compact and will fit in nicely on my counter. I can't wait to start building my music library from this wonderful receiver!
Wouldn't you love to have the ease of just tagging songs off the radio when you hear them? You should check out the deals that they have over at HD Radio. You might get hooked like me?
Till Next Time,
Kat
I had a really hard day yesterday, and I thought of this song for today. It fits.
I hope everyone has a good Monday, and I know that it will get better in time. :)
Take care,
I would like to say thank you to my Top Entrecard droppers for the month of April!!
