Edward (Ted) Kennedy has passed away last night. He had been battling brain cancer, and it made me wonder if something was really wrong when he didn't attend his sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver's funeral last week. Speculation was that he wasn't well enough to attend, so this news, although it is a shock, is not totally unexpected.
President Obama who is vacationing with his family on nearby Martha's Vineyard said that he and the first lady were “heartbroken” to hear of Kennedy's passing.
“An important chapter in our history has come to an end. Our country has lost a great leader, who picked up the torch of his fallen brothers and became the greatest United States Senator of our time,” President Obama said.
I am not foolish enough to have forgotten Chappaquiddick, and I don't think many people have, but he semed to have moved past that and redeemed himself somewhat by all the good he has done while holding his seat in the senate.
Massachusetts will miss Senator Ted Kennedy............
Till Next Time,
Take Care,
Kat
I feel much the same way Kat. I think he made a lot of mistakes, as many did in that generation and time, but, I honestly believe he tried his best to redeem himself and I do believe he is one Senator that truly cared about people and not just politics.
Wow I am 52 so this really a blow. My generation came along during the years of Camelot. Now Camelot is finally gone.
I hope you have a terrific day!!
HE WAS A GOOD MAN.
